Overview
Persistent Learning is a comprehensive, next-generation Learning Management System (LMS) specifically engineered for the competitive UK education market. Headquartered in London, the platform serves as a centralized digital ecosystem that bridges the gap between high-quality educational content and student performance tracking.
Unlike standard off-the-shelf LMS solutions, Persistent Learning was built from the ground up to support the GCSE, Primary, and Secondary school curricula, providing a specialized environment for Year 11+ students to excel in their national examinations.
Problem
Information Overload for Students:
Year 11+ and GCSE students are already highly stressed. Existing platforms often overwhelm them with cluttered navigation, making it difficult to find upcoming deadlines, specific course materials, or their current academic standing.
Lack of Parental Transparency
Parents are making the financial investment, yet they are often left in the dark. They typically rely on delayed, term-end report cards rather than having real-time visibility into their child's daily progress, attendance, and weak points.
Solution
Focus-Driven Student Dashboards:
I designed a distraction-free, personalized dashboard. Instead of hunting for materials, the UI immediately presents the student with their "Welcome Back Alert," active assignments, and an intuitive "Assessment Results" data visualization to show exactly where they need to focus next.
Transparent, Non-Intrusive Parent Portal
I introduced a dedicated Parent Desktop that provides at-a-glance performance analytics. Parents can track attendance, view assessment results, and communicate directly with tutors seamlessly, establishing immediate trust without micromanaging the student.
Evolution of the Solution
Upon resolving the challenges hindering the EduQuest LMS software, I proceeded with creating basic designs for the core application, detailed in the subsequent sections.
